Pearl's Story
Hello friends, I'm Pearl! My foster mom says for a senior gal I have such a playful silly side that you would think I'm much younger. I love play with my stuffies and will gently chew them while tossing them around, playing fetch and keep-away, and rolling on top of them. Hedgehog Is my favourite. I also like to chew on soft bones and I really love enrichment games where I can use my sniffer to find the treats.
I really enjoy going for walks through the neighbourhood. It’s probably best to keep my leash on though because I will try to chase bicycles, skateboards, scooters and anything else with wheels. Don’t they know sidewalks are for walking?
My foster home has another dog. She is a pug and we get along just fine. She’s an old gal too and it seems we have the same interests - treat games, watching tv, belly rubs, playing, snuggling, breakfast, lunch, supper and in-between treats.
My foster mom has tried to give me beauty treatments a few times - I mean why? Look at me! I don't like things being put in my face whether it's a wet wipe, face cloth, or nose butter. I will snap at your hand and let you know I don't like it. For this reason, my foster mom says she doesn't know how I would be with small kids. I might get snappy if they reach for my face too fast or hard.
I am housetrained but do need to go out for a pee frequently - it’s a senior thing.
I recently had a surgery to remove some broken teeth that I had. They also did a teeth cleaning and removed 2 little old age lumps. I’m all healed up and the vet said I am otherwise in perfect health!
I know there are plenty of fish in the sea but finding a Pearl like me is really special! I can't wait to meet my forever family!
Love,
Pearl
